Job summary

Boomering inc is seeking an Estimator to join our team and support commercial project delivery. You will analyze blueprints, materials, and labor needs, prepare detailed cost estimates, and manage procurement costs across multiple projects.

Collaborating with project managers, architects, and suppliers, you will negotiate bids, track variations, and maintain accurate commercial records for audit and reporting purposes. The role requires independence and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills; ability to interpret drawings and specs.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills; collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for project estimates.

• Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to determine material and labor requirements.

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals for commercial construction projects, including itemized breakdowns of costs and timelines.

• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids and negotiate pricing agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness.

• Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction process, identifying potential cost overruns and proposing cost-saving measures.

• Support contract administration activities, including reviewing contract documentation, scopes of work, variations, and subcontractor agreements to ensure alignment with project requirements.

• Prepare, track, and maintain variation documentation, progress claims, purchase orders, and other commercial records throughout the project lifecycle.

• Assist with assessing subcontractor and supplier claims, variations, and contractual obligations, escalating commercial or contractual issues to the Project Manager as required.

• Maintain accurate contract and project records, including correspondence, approvals, pricing changes, and supporting documentation for audit and commercial reporting purposes.

• Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of commercial construction processes and best practices.

• Proficiency in Buildxact software (estimating and project management tool)

• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in estimating project costs.

• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
