Job summary

Acciona-EEI Joint Venture is seeking an Environmental Officer to serve as one of the Project’s Pollution Control Officers (PCOs). The role ensures compliance with DENR DAO 20.4-02, PD 1586 and other environmental laws, while coordinating with EMS and project teams across disciplines.

The incumbent will conduct inspections, prepare reports, train staff, and manage permits and monitoring reports (SMRs/CMRs). Strong communication and documentation skills are required.

Qualifications

• DENR-EMB Accredited PCO preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as PCO preferred.
• Knowledge of wastewater handling.
• Familiarity with PD1586, RA6969, RA9003, RA8749, RA9275.
• Knowledge of ADB/CDC guidelines.
• ISO14001 / EMS knowledge.
• SDS & chemical handling basics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental inspections and site observations; document findings and prepare inspection reports.
• Conduct environmental orientations for new hires, visitors, clients, and stakeholders.
• Lead internal environmental training and emergency drills.
• Coordinate with engineers and contractors to ensure EMS and permit compliance.
• Prepare audit reports and monitor corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit SMRs, CMRs, environmental registers, and incident reports.
• Participate in public consultations and coordinate with stakeholders on environmental matters.
• Assist in developing and implementing environmental protection and safety measures and management plans.
• Facilitate permits and clearances for air, wastewater, and hazardous waste facilities.
• Collaborate with HSE on policy and committee activities; report non-compliances.
• Maintain environmental records, monitoring results, permits, and training records.
• Prefer DENR-EMB Accredited PCO; Category B preferred.
• Ensure knowledge on handling or monitoring wastewater.
• Maintain knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
