Job summary

Lablife Medical and Laboratory Center seeks an Environmental Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to environmental laws and permit conditions in its operations in Metro Manila.

The role requires a DENR-accredited PCO with 1–2 years of relevant experience and strong documentation and reporting skills. You will manage permits, waste handling, and liaison for inspections and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• DENR-accredited Pollution Control Officer (PCO).
• 1–2 years in Environmental Compliance.
• Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Compliance Monitoring: Ensure the establishment complies with all relevant environmental laws, regulations, and permit conditions.
• Permit Management: Handle the application, renewal, and maintenance of all environmental permits (e.g., Permits to Operate and Discharge Permits).
• Operational Control: Oversee the proper performance, operation, and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities and air pollution control devices.
• Waste Management: Identify and manage hazardous waste with proper tracking and manifests.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit SMR and other reports to the EMB.
• Incident Response: Report emergencies within 24 hours.
• Liaison Officer: Serve as the primary contact for inspections and audits.

Core Duties and Responsibilities (DENR Administrative Order 20402)

• Compliance Monitoring: Ensure the establishment complies with all relevant environmental laws, regulations, and permit conditions.


• Permit Management: Handle the application, renewal, and maintenance of all environmental permits, such as Permits to Operate (air pollution) and Discharge Permits (water pollution).


• Operational Control: Oversee the proper performance, operation, and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities and air pollution control devices.


• Waste Management: Identify and manage hazardous waste, including tracking its storage, transport, and disposal using official manifests.


• Reporting: Prepare and submit Quarterly Self-Monitoring Reports (SMR) and other required reports to the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB).


• Incident Response: Report any emergency incidents, such as massive spills or accidental discharges, to the DENR within 24 hours.
