Job summary

HOYA is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to build and govern a common data layer used across divisions. You will craft reusable data pipelines, medallion Lakehouse references, and metadata-driven templates on the Microsoft Azure stack, collaborating with source-system owners, architects, and platform teams to deliver trusted analytics-ready data.

You will design ingestion frameworks, validate data quality, and champion DataOps practices across development and production environments,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering or related field.
• 8+ years hands-on experience designing, building and operating modern enterprise data solutions on Azure.
• Professional proficiency in English and ability to communicate with tech and business stakeholders.
• Experience in cross-functional, distributed enterprise environments.
• Fabric Data Engineer Associate or similar certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify common data engineering needs and shape reusable designs and standards.
• Design and build reusable ingestion frameworks for batch, near real-time, and streaming data.
• Develop and maintain modular ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure tools.
• Define medallion Lakehouse patterns with bronze, silver, and gold layers.
• Build data-quality components with clear ownership and thresholds.
• Embed metadata, lineage, and access controls using Purview.
• Demonstrate DataOps standards including Git, CI/CD and IaC.
• Create observability patterns for pipeline health, data freshness and cost.
• Provide optimization guidance for storage, compute and orchestration.
• Embed data protection and secure sharing designs.
• Document patterns, templates and standards for division teams.
• Support data catalogue, master-data and data-product initiatives.
