Job summary

Ascendion in the Philippines is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes. You will work with data from various sources, build data models, warehouses, lakes, and lakehouse solutions while ensuring security and governance standards.

You will collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and engineers to deliver robust data solutions, write efficient SQL, and apply Python or Java/Scala, with a focus on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Data Engineering or related roles.
• Strong SQL proficiency.
• Hands-on with Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with data warehousing and data modeling.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Extract, transform, validate, and load data from multiple sources
• Develop and optimize data models, data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse solutions
• Write SQL queries and develop data processing solutions in Python or similar
• Integrate data from databases, APIs, apps, files, and other sources
• Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring processes
• Collaborate with analysts, scientists, engineers, and stakeholders
• Maintain documentation covering data flows and pipelines
