Job summary

Liberty Specialty Markets is seeking an experienced energy underwriting professional to grow and profit the energy product line. The role requires deep knowledge of downstream, midstream, and upstream Oil & Gas, as well as Power Generation insurance and reinsurance.

You will analyze and underwrite opportunities, develop business plans from market insights, and advise senior management on strategic directions.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years technical underwriting experience of the energy classes.
Advanced knowledge of underwriting and risk engineering concepts, practices and procedures.
Fluency in English (C2) & Spanish with some knowledge of Portuguese.
Bachelor's Degree (preferably engineering) with progress toward professional examinations such as CPCU or ACII.

Responsibilities

Underwrites downstream, midstream and upstream Oil & Gas, Power Generation and Heavy Industries insurance and reinsurance business within their Underwriting Authority.
Reports to the Energy Regional Product Line Manager; selects and underwrites business based on analytical, data-driven decisions.
Contributes to development of business and strategy plans from insights and market interactions.
Advises senior management on strategy using research and client interactions.
Collaborates across Risk Engineering, Claims, Actuarial, Finance and Operations to optimize performance.
Leads product development and refinement using data insights, research, and AI.
Manages and develops own portfolio of clients and producers.
Maintains market presence with brokers and builds leadership-level relationships.
