Job summary

Bridge Data Centres Malaysia Sdn Bhd seeks an ELV Design SME to lead development, review, and optimization of ELV systems across APAC data center projects, from concept through commissioning, ensuring reliability and scalability.

The role serves as technical authority for ELV infrastructure, driving design governance, best practices, and QA reviews, collaborating with CSA, MEP, IT, Security, Ops, and Development teams to deliver integrated, resilient solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in ELV design and engineering.
• Experience designing ELV infrastructure for data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Proven track record delivering full lifecycle projects from design to commissioning.
• Experience with design consultancies, developers, contractors, and operators.
• Involvement in hyperscale or colocation data center developments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide APAC SME leadership for ELV systems across data center projects.
• Develop and standardize ELV design standards, specifications, and reference architectures.
• Oversee design for structured cabling, fiber networks, BMS, EPMS, DCIM, CCTV, access control, and security.
• Review deliverables ensuring compliance with standards, requirements, and regulations.
• Evaluate design variations and new technologies to improve reliability and scalability.
• Support RFPs, due diligence, tender evaluations, and contractor management.
• Conduct QA reviews, audits, and commissioning verifications for project delivery.

Job description

The ELV Design SME serves as the subject matter expert responsible for the development, review, standardization, and optimization of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems across hyperscale and colocation data center developments. This role provides technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from concept design through commissioning, ensuring that ELV systems meet operational, reliability, scalability, and customer requirements. The position acts as the technical authority for ELV infrastructure across APAC projects and drives engineering excellence through design governance, best practices, technology evaluation, and quality assurance reviews.

Key responsibilities

Serve as the APAC Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ELV systems across data center developments, providing technical leadership from concept design through commissioning.

Lead the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of ELV design standards, technical specifications, reference architectures, and engineering best practices.

Provide design oversight and technical guidance for structured cabling, fiber networks, BMS, EPMS, DCIM, CCTV, access control, physical security systems, PAGA, master clock systems, and other critical ELV infrastructure.

Review and validate design deliverables at all project stages, ensuring compliance with company standards, client requirements, operational objectives, and regulatory requirements.

Evaluate design variations, value engineering proposals, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions to improve reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.

Support RFPs, technical due diligence, customer engagements, tender evaluations, and consultant/contractor management by providing expert ELV engineering input.

Conduct design quality assurance reviews, technical audits, construction document reviews, and commissioning validations to ensure successful project delivery and system performance.

Collaborate with CSA, MEP, IT, Security, Operations, and Development teams to deliver integrated, resilient, and scalable data center solutions across the APAC portfolio.

About you

10+ years of experience in ELV system design and engineering.

Extensive experience designing ELV infrastructure within data centers, mission-critical facilities, telecommunications, or large-scale intelligent buildings.

Proven experience delivering multiple full lifecycle projects from concept design through commissioning.

Strong experience working with design consultancies, developers, contractors, and operators.

Experience developing technical standards and engineering specifications preferred.

Prior involvement in hyperscale or colocation data center developments is highly desirable.
