Job summary

Gough Recruitment (Hong Kong) Pty Limited seeks an experienced Electrical Design Lead to support delivery of large-scale data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects across APAC. This role will lead electrical design reviews, technical coordination, and engineering delivery, working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• PE/CEng or equivalent accreditation preferred.
• Extensive experience in electrical engineering design and project delivery within data centres or large-scale infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV power distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, substations, protection systems.
• Experience leading technical reviews and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, BIM platforms.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting hyperscale data centre projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the review and coordination of electrical system designs for data centre and critical infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical leadership for power distribution, MV/LV systems, standby power, UPS, generators, and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to resolve technical issues and drive project outcomes.
• Conduct design reviews, technical assessments, and engineering studies to identify optimisation opportunities, risks, and solutions.
• Ensure alignment across multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, controls, civil, and structural engineering.
• Support project teams in managing quality, cost, schedule, and technical compliance requirements.
• Review engineering documentation, specifications, BIM models, and project deliverables.
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering standards, design quality, reliability, and operational performance.

Job description

Provide technical leadership for power distribution, MV/LV systems, standby power, UPS, generators, and associated electrical infrastructure.

Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to resolve technical issues and drive project outcomes.

Conduct design reviews, technical assessments, and engineering studies to identify optimisation opportunities, risks, and solutions.

Ensure alignment across multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, controls, civil, and structural engineering.

Support project teams in managing quality, cost, schedule, and technical compliance requirements.

Review engineering documentation, specifications, BIM models, and project deliverables.

Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent accreditation preferred.

Extensive experience in electrical engineering design and project delivery within data centres, mission-critical facilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of MV/LV power distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, substations, protection systems, and electrical distribution networks.

Experience leading technical reviews and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, BIM platforms, and related engineering software.

Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Experience supporting regional or international hyperscale data centre projects is advantageous.
