Job summary

Cheyenne Mountain District 12 is seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher to address current student needs at specific schools and to work with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Position is 1.0 FTE with 182 workdays per year; salary is on the Licensed Salary Schedule and includes full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent required.
• READ Act designation or in process required.
• Special Education Generalist License (5-21) or Endorsement required.

If the current schools should experience a change in student needs, the individuals filling these positions may be required to change locationsto another school where needs are demonstrated. This could occur at any time during the school year.
• Candidate should have a strong background in instructional strategies and programming for elementary students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.), meets subject, grade level, and/or content area qualifications consistent with Colorado Department of Education and Cheyenne Mountain District 12 requirements
• Elementary Special Education Teacher must have READ Act designation or be in the process of obtaining
• Must possess or be eligible for a Special Education Generalist License (5-21) or Endorsement
• Criminal background check required for hire
