Job summary

ILO Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced cost estimator for electrical projects. You will prepare quantity take-offs, develop bills of quantities, and manage cost documentation across construction jobs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, a professional license if possible, and at least three years in a similar position. You will review project data, support bidding, and help ensure accurate budgets under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Licensed Engineer preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum 3 years in a cost estimation role preferred.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/obtain Quantity take-off for electrical works from schematic plans and parameters.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities and cost all quantities for Department Head approval.
• Prepare documentation and submit renewal of Corporate Licenses.
• Assist in processing billings with legal retainers, insurance, and bonding companies.
• Obtain accurate Quantity take-off for multiple scope of works as assigned.
• Review completeness of attachments for RBR approvals including Subcontractor proposals.
• Prepare and file department records in an orderly manner.
• Assist in bids for private and public projects.
• Prepare Operating Budget-related cost summaries.

About the role

This role involves preparing quantity take-offs for electrical works, preparing bills of quantities, and managing cost documentation for construction projects. The position requires overseeing, monitoring, and managing cost and production aspects of construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare/obtain Quantity take-off for the Electrical works based on the schematic plan and elemental parameters


• Prepare BQ and cost all the quantities therein for the approval of Department Head


• Prepare documentation and submit renewal of Corporate Licenses


• Assist in processing billings of Legal retainers including insurance & bonding companies


• Obtain accurate Quantity take-off for the following scope of works as per assignment


• Review completeness of the attachment being request for approval RBR which includes Subcon/s Proposal for the said scope of work


• Prepare and compile proper filing of records of the department


• Assist in the bidding process in private and public projects


• Operations Bill of Quantities that sums up the amount requested for Operating Budget

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering


• Licensed Engineer (preferably)


• Experience in the same role for 3 years and above (preferably)


• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills


• Ability to communicate well and with confidence


• In-depth knowledge of construction and its principles and guidelines


• Adequate experience of construction estimating


• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills


• Able to work in a fast paced environment and can work under pressure with minimal supervision
