Job summary

Devex Incorporated seeks an experienced QS Electrical Engineer to prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for electrical works in large-scale construction and infrastructure projects. The role entails quantity take-offs, cost control, and collaboration with design, procurement, and construction teams to deliver cost-efficient solutions.

You will read electrical drawings and specifications, monitor costs, evaluate progress billings, and assist in negotiations and change orders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical cost estimation and quantity surveying.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industry standards, and safety codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and QS software.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in large-scale MEP or construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Leadership abilities and mentoring junior QS staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for electrical works in construction and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct quantity take-offs for electrical materials, equipment, and labor.
• Analyze project drawings, specifications, and designs to ensure accurate cost planning.
• Monitor project costs, prepare progress reports, and track variations against budgets.
• Prepare and evaluate progress billings, variation orders, and change requests.
• Collaborate with design, procurement, and construction teams to optimize cost-effective solutions.
• Participate in contract negotiations and help in evaluating claims and change orders.
