Job summary

AS Contracting Co is seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong procurement skills to support sourcing, bidding, and supplier management for industrial projects. You will prepare bid invitations, verify invoices, and ensure compliant purchasing operations.

The candidate should hold a BSc in Electrical Engineering, with preference for a Supply Chain degree, and proven procurement experience in electrical/industrial fields. Leadership and data analysis skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BSc in Electrical Engineering.

• Proven working experience as a procurement engineer in same field.
• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques and market reading.

Responsibilities

• Perform buying duties when necessary.
• Prepare invitation-of-bid forms and mail forms to supplier firms or distribute forms for public posting.
• Approve bills for payment.
• Calculate costs of orders, and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts.
• Check shipments when they arrive to ensure orders are filled and goods meet specs.
• Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine best bid.
• Compare suppliers' bills with bids and purchase orders to verify accuracy.
• Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages or delays.
• Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient and order more materials when needed.
• Locate suppliers via catalogs and internet, interview them for product info.
• Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.
• Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and departments.
• Respond to inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
• Review requisition orders to verify accuracy and specs.
• Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
• Maintain knowledge of organizational and governmental rules affecting purchases.
• Monitor contractor performance and recommend contract modifications.
• Monitor in-house inventory movement and complete transfer forms.
• Analyze suppliers to select those delivering high quality at competitive pricing.
• Negotiate lead-time, cost and quality to maximize company benefits.
• Manage suppliers to meet cost, delivery, schedule and quality objectives.
• Develop purchasing strategies based on portfolio analyses and supplier research.
• Define and maintain supplier strategies using market data.
• Develop and drive procurement strategies to meet cost savings targets.
• Review supplier base for alignment with sourcing strategy.
• Perform regular performance reviews with suppliers to drive improvements.
• Ensure commercial, legal and contractual compliance in all procurement transactions.
