Job summary

Lai Yew Seng designs, builds and installs crash-rated perimeter security systems, including automated bollards, road blockers, arm barriers and gates for government, commercial and critical infrastructure sites. The role covers end-to-end electrical and control installations, PLC programming, commissioning and post-sale support.

The successful candidate will work with site engineers, the factory team and clients to ensure on-time delivery and fault-free operation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–4 years' hands-on experience in electrical installation, controls or automation, ideally in access control, industrial automation or M&E.
• Working knowledge of PLC programming and control circuit design.
• Confident with cable termination, panel wiring and fault-finding on site.
• Class 3 driving licence preferred.
• Able to work independently on site and communicate clearly with clients and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Install, wire and terminate control panels, hydraulic power packs and field devices for road blockers, barriers and bollards.
• Program, test and commission PLC-based control systems, including safety loops and access-control integration.
• Read and mark up circuit diagrams, cable schedules and control drawings.
• Carry out testing & commission PLC-based control systems, including safety loops and access-control integration.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and control faults on installed systems, including during the Defects Liability Period.
• Support preventive maintenance and servicing schedules.
• Coordinate with the site team, subcontractors and clients' M&E to keep installations on programme.

About the role

You will own the electrical and control side of installations, from wiring and termination through to PLC programming, commissioning and after-sales fault response. You report to the Director and the Operations Manager, and work closely with site engineers and factory team.

Key responsibilities
