Job summary

Edsa Shangri-La Manila is seeking a qualified Duty Engineer to maintain hotel systems and equipment in line with Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts standards. You will monitor utilities, lead technical staff, and ensure energy management and safety procedures are followed in daily operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a similar role, a technical college certificate in mechanics or electricity, and strong communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• Has at least 5 years of experience in the same field.
• Demonstrates awareness of OH&S policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hotel equipment and areas per Shangri-La standards.
• Check daily utility readings and optimize operations.
• Lead engineering staff per standards and procedures.
• Conduct shift briefings and manage technicians.
• Oversee energy management for the Engineering Department.
• Perform safety spot checks and ensure OH&S compliance.
• Analyze energy costs and expenditure for the department.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

We are currently looking for a Duty Engineer.

As a Duty Engineer, We Rely You To

• Ensure that the Hotel equipment and areas are maintained and operated in accordance with Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts standard
• Check daily utilities readings and make sure operation is most efficient.
• Ensure all engineering employees follow the Engineering Standards and Procedures as issued from time to time.
• Conduct shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known.
• Manage the technician to maintain all machinery equipment and record work process for the property.
• Responsible for the proper organization and functioning of the energy management function of the Engineering Department.
• Demonstrate awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines and ensure direct reports do the same.
• Analyse and monitor energy costs and expenditures for the department.
• Ensure that personal grooming and hygiene standards are being observed doing spot checks in the morning.
• Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the management from time to time.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• Has proper bearing, good health, physically fit, neat & pleasant
• Has at least 5 years experience in the same field.
• Has certificate from Technical College in Mechanics or Electricity or equivalent.
• Demonstrates awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines. In addition, first aid and fire and emergency procedures.
• Demonstrates high quality work, has good communication & problem solving skills, organizational and training abilities
