About the role
This is a Driving Instructor position responsible for delivering comprehensive Theoretical Driving Courses (TDC) and Practical Driving Courses (PDC) in line with Land Transportation Office (LTO) guidelines, covering relevant vehicle restriction codes. The role emphasizes defensive driving techniques, risk awareness, and proper road courtesy as part of the academy's mission as a "Defensive Driving Advocate".
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive Theoretical Driving Courses (TDC) and Practical Driving Courses (PDC) covering relevant vehicle restriction codes (Code 1, 2, 3, and 8) in line with LTO guidelines
- Promote defensive driving by instilling core defensive driving techniques, risk awareness, and proper road courtesy
- Monitor student progress, evaluate driving skills objectively, and provide constructive, patient feedback to ensure learners build road confidence
- Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of training vehicles (dual-control cars, motorcycles, etc.), ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols during actual road sessions
- Accurately record attendance, complete progress reports, and manage required documentation for student certification and LTO compliance
- Maintain a calm, encouraging, and professional demeanor, especially when handling nervous or first-time student drivers
- Strictly prioritize the safety of students, pedestrians, and fellow motorists at all times during practical road training
- Adhere strictly to scheduled classroom hours and driving lesson time slots while managing daily student rotations efficiently
- Stay updated with revisions to Philippine traffic laws, LTO memorandum circulars, and modern defensive driving methodologies
About you
- Valid Professional Driver's License with clean driving record and appropriate restriction codes matching the academy's vehicle offerings (manual/automatic cars and motorcycles)
- Proven experience working as a driving instructor or in a structured training/teaching environment (customer service or coaching backgrounds are a strong plus)
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills in English and local languages (Tagalog/Visayan depending on the branch location) to explain complex traffic rules clearly
- First Aid / CPR training certification is a distinct advantage
- LTO Accreditation (to be shouldered by the company once requirements are submitted)
