Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed architectural drawings for Australian residential projects: Site plans, Floor plans, Elevations, Sections, Electrical plans, Slab plans, Internal layouts, Shadow plans, Construction documentation.
• Develop and maintain accurate Revit BIM models, families, and project templates.
• Ensure drawings comply with NCC, Australian Standards, ResCode, and local council requirements.
• Interpret design briefs, tender and variation documents, engineering documentation, and builder markups.
• Collaborate with designers and builders to refine drawings and resolve technical issues.
• Identify potential construction, documentation, and compliance issues.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure drawings are accurate and buildable.
• Follow client procedures, drafting standards, checklists, and documentation requirements.
• Manage project deadlines, file organization, and remote/cloud-based workflow.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Revit Draftsman to support residential construction projects in Victoria, Australia.

In this role, you will prepare accurate, detailed, and build-ready architectural documentation for new homes and small-scale multi-residential projects. You will work closely with designers and builders in a fully remote environment and ensure drawings comply with relevant Australian construction requirements.

This position is suited to a detail-oriented draftsman with solid experience in Australian residential construction, advanced Revit skills, and a good understanding of Australian building standards and documentation practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed architectural and construction drawings for Australian residential projects, including:

  • Site plans

  • Floor plans

  • Elevations

  • Sections

  • Electrical plans

  • Slab plans

  • Internal layouts

  • Shadow plans

  • Overlooking diagrams

  • Construction documentation

• Develop and maintain accurate Revit BIM models, families, and project templates in accordance with company standards.

• Ensure drawings and documentation comply with NCC, Australian Standards, ResCode, and applicable local council requirements.

• Interpret design briefs, tender and variation documents, engineering documentation, and builder mark‑ups.

• Work closely with designers and builders to refine drawings and resolve technical issues.

• Identify and flag potential construction, documentation, and compliance issues.

• Conduct quality checks to ensure drawings are accurate, consistent, coordinated, and buildable.

• Follow applicable client procedures, drafting standards, checklists, and documentation requirements.

• Manage project deadlines, file organization, and documentation within a remote/cloud-based workflow.

• Communicate effectively with the project team regarding drawing revisions, technical issues, and project requirements.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience in architectural drafting within the Australian residential construction industry.

• Advanced proficiency in Revit for architectural drafting and BIM workflows.

• Working knowledge of:

  • National Construction Code (NCC)

  • ResCode

  • Australian Standards

  • Australian residential construction methods

• Experience preparing construction documentation for Australian residential projects.

• Ability to interpret design briefs, tender and variation documents, engineering drawings, and builder mark‑ups.

• Ability to identify potential construction and compliance issues from drawings and documentation.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy.

• Good written and verbal English communication skills.

• Able to work independently and manage deadlines in a remote work environment.

• Reliable internet connection and a suitable work-from-home setup.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, or another CAD platform.

• Experience with volume-builder documentation processes.

• Previous experience working on Victorian residential construction projects.

• Experience creating custom Revit families, templates, and drafting standards.

• Experience working with cloud-based project management and file-sharing systems.
