Job summary

iSupport Worldwide is seeking a detail-oriented Draftsman to support engineering teams with CAD detailing, BOM generation, manufacturing preparation, and shop floor support. You will create and maintain detailed CAD models and drawings, develop customer-specific parts, generate accurate BOMs, and ensure designs meet tolerances and manufacturing standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in CAD modelling, drafting, or engineering design support.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical design, or engineering environments preferred.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software for 3D modelling and technical drawing creation.
• Experience generating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
• Microsoft 365, especially Word and Excel, 1 year minimum.
• Knowledge of Mechanics of Materials, GD&T, and Finite Element Analysis is preferred.
• Understanding manufacturing processes, machining, and drawing standards is beneficial.
• Experience in welding/fabrication or operating a lathe is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal English communication, organization, attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Draft and detail custom engineering projects with CAD modelling, drawings, and BOMs.
• Create and maintain detailed CAD models, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Develop customer-specific parts and components per project requirements.
• Generate and maintain Bills of Materials for manufacturing use.
• Prepare shop documentation and support shop floor manufacturing activities.
• Ensure drawings meet tolerances and engineering standards.
• Review and revise drawing packages based on feedback and changes.
• Support manufacturing operations with accurate drafting and documentation.
• Maintain engineering files, revisions, and records.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure workflow efficiency.

What is your mission?

We are looking for a detail-oriented Draftsman to support engineering teams through CAD drawing detailing, Bill of Materials (BOM) generation, manufacturing preparation, and shop floor support activities. This role is responsible for CAD modelling, technical drafting, custom part detailing, BOM creation, and ensuring designs meet manufacturing requirements and engineering tolerances.

You will provide the best service to our partner brands by performing these tasks:

• Support engineers with the drafting and development of custom engineering projects
• Create and maintain detailed CAD models, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation
• Develop and detail customer-specific parts and components based on project requirements
• Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing and production use
• Prepare shop machines and supporting documentation for shop floor manufacturing activities
• Ensure products, components, and drawings meet specified tolerances and engineering standards
• Review and revise drawing packages based on engineering feedback and project changes
• Support manufacturing operations by providing accurate drafting and technical documentation
• Assist with maintaining engineering files, revisions, and documentation records
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient workflow and project completion

Requirements

Who are we looking for?

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field preferred
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in CAD modelling, drafting, or engineering design support
• Experience supporting manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical design, or engineering environments is preferred
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software for 3D modelling and technical drawing creation
• Experience generating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation
• Minimum 1 year of experience using Microsoft 365, particularly Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• General knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles, particularly Mechanics of Materials, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is preferred
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, machining, and engineering drawing standards is an advantage
• Experience in welding, fabrication environments, or operating a lathe machine is preferred
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Adaptable and eager to learn within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment
