About the Role
The CAD Drafter will be the focal point for all CAD design activities within the Engineering Services department. This role is responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings, including P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and project-specific fabrication drawings, with a strong focus on small-bore tubing systems.
The role ensures accuracy, compliance with industry standards and project specifications, and timely delivery of all design outputs while coordinating closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain P&ID, GA, fabrication, and small-bore tubing drawings for engineering projects
- Produce detailed small-bore tubing layouts, including routing practices, support details, and installation arrangements
- Develop instrument hook-ups, material specifications, and tubing schedules in line with project and industry standards
- Interpret engineering specifications and project requirements into accurate CAD designs
- Coordinate closely with instrumentation, piping, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to ensure design alignment
- Manage and organize CAD files and drawing revisions in accordance with company procedures
- Act as the primary point of contact for CAD-related queries within the department
- Support continuous improvement of CAD standards, workflows, and drafting practices
- Ensure full compliance with industry codes, client requirements, and internal quality standards
Qualifications (Non-Negotiable Requirements)
- Degree in Engineering
- At least 2 years of relevant engineering, custom design, or project-based experience
- Strong experience in small-bore tubing design, installation, and arrangement
- Instrumentation background is highly preferred
- Proven experience working within an Engineering consultancy or EPC contractor environment
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of P&ID, GA, fabrication, and small-bore tubing drawing conventions
- Experience developing instrument hook-ups, tubing layouts, material specifications, and routing details
- Ability to read and interpret engineering documents, standards, and project specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Customer-oriented with strong communication skills and fluency in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Technical & Added Value Skills
- Experience coordinating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Knowledge of 3D modeling tools and plant design software
- Familiarity with industry standards related to instrumentation and tubing systems
