Job summary

Kaya Korean BBQ - Banawa in Cebu City is seeking a dedicated Dish washer / Kitchen Helper to support our fast-paced kitchen team. The role focuses on cleaning equipment, assisting chefs, and maintaining a hygienic work environment.

You will wash dishes, assist with prep, restock supplies, and help during service while following health and safety standards. Previous experience is preferred but not essential.

• Assisting kitchen staff with food preparation tasks, including washing and chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients and assembling mise en place
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen, including floors, work surfaces and storage areas
• Restocking kitchen supplies, including plates, glasses, utensils and cooking ingredients as needed
• Supporting the kitchen team during service, including plating assistance and general kitchen support
• Following all health, safety and food hygiene regulations and procedures
• Communicating effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods

About the role Kaya Korean BBQ - Banawa is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Dish washer / Kitchen Helper to join our hospitality team in Cebu City. This is a full-time position based at our Banawa location. In this role, you will be an essential part of our kitchen operations, ensuring that our team has clean equipment and supplies whilst supporting our chefs to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment where attention to detail, efficiency, and teamwork are paramount.

What you'll be doing

• Dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, utensils, glassware, pots and pans according to health and safety standards

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience as a dish washer, kitchen helper or in a similar hospitality role (preferred but not essential)
• Strong work ethic and reliability with a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy items
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from senior kitchen staff
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards guests and colleagues
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is advantageous
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by restaurant operations
