Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Director of Software Engineering and IT Services to lead software engineering, QA, DevOps, PM, BI, and IT operations. You will drive technical direction, governance, and people leadership across these functions.

You will oversee production operations, ensure high availability, and manage budgets while fostering a culture of accountability and technical excellence. Strong communication with peers and stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with senior leadership.
• Proven experience leading multiple tech functions (Software Eng, QA, DevOps).
• Strong budgeting, planning, and delivery of technology initiatives.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Software Engineering function, setting technical direction and delivery practices.
• Oversee QA to ensure quality, performance, and reliability before release.
• Direct DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, release management, and deployment reliability.
• Oversee Project Management and Business Analysis to ensure initiatives are scoped, planned, resourced, and delivered on time.
• Oversee Application Support for timely production issue resolution and feedback between support and engineering.
• Own production operations for applications and services delivered by the Software Engineering organization.
• Establish and enforce engineering governance: coding standards, reviews, architecture guidelines, security, and change management.
• Monitor system performance and reliability, driving uptime and incident resolution improvements.
• Directly manage and develop leads/managers across software engineering, QA, DevOps, PM, BA, and application support.
• Build a strong engineering culture focused on accountability, technical excellence, and collaboration.
