Job summary

Amex GBT in Manila is seeking a JAVA Software Developer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain applications that support our travel services and business operations.

You will modernize legacy systems, migrate applications to updated platforms, and ensure cybersecurity compliance while integrating with vendor APIs and maintaining system uptime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with Java, API integration, and legacy system modernization.

The JAVA Software Developer will design, develop, deploy, and maintain applications that support our travel services and business operations.

What You'll Do

• Programming & Support: Perform complex programming tasks for legacy system modernization into a Java environment. Modify existing systems for cybersecurity compliance.
• System Migration: Migrate legacy applications to updated platforms, ensuring alignment with industry guidelines and boosting system uptime.
• Solving & Optimization: Diagnose, isolate, and resolve software issues, monitor system capacity and ensure applications’ connectivity to vendor APIs.
• Documentation & Standards: Create software documentation and architecture diagrams. Adhere to development standards and security requirements. Provide technical support for applications using Java, C#, jQuery, AJAX, React, and SQL Server. Use Visual Studio 2019/2022 for development, ensuring compatibility with major web browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc.). Add functionality to streamline backend processes and improve system efficiency. Implement disaster recovery procedures and provide Tier 2 technical support. Collaborate to define system specifications, design architecture, perform testing,and document all source code.

• Experience in the Travel Industry, preferably development with Online/Offline Booking Systems (Concur, Amadeus, Travelport+)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
