Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel seeks a Java Software Developer to design, develop, deploy and maintain applications that support our travel services and business operations. You will work on modernizing legacy systems, migrate applications to updated platforms, and ensure security and API connectivity.

You will use Java, jQuery, React, SQL Server and Oracle PL/SQL, with REST and SOAP APIs, while collaborating on architecture, testing and documentation to deliver robust solutions for our

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Java Framework experience.
• 2+ years with jQuery, AJAX, and React.js.
• 3 years working with SQL Server, Oracle PL/SQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience building REST and SOAP APIs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

Job description

The JAVA Software Developer will design, develop, deploy, and maintain applications that support our travel services and business operations.

What You\'ll Do:

• Programming & Support: Perform complex programming tasks for legacy system modernization into a Java environment. Modify existing systems for cybersecurity compliance.
• System Migration: Migrate legacy applications to updated platforms, ensuring alignment with industry guidelines and boosting system uptime.
• Solving & Optimization: Diagnose, isolate, and resolve software issues, monitor system capacity and ensure applications’ connectivity to vendor APIs.
• Documentation & Standards: Create software documentation and architecture diagrams. Adhere to development standards and security requirements.
• Provide technical support for applications using Java, C#, jQuery, AJAX, React, and SQL Server.
• Use Visual Studio 2019/2022 for development, ensuring compatibility with major Add functionality to streamline backend processes and improve system efficiency.
• Implement disaster recovery procedures and provide Tier 2 technical support.
• Collaborate to define system specifications, design architecture, perform testing,and document all source code.
