Job summary

Amex GBT is seeking a software engineer in Manila to design, develop, test, and deploy features and services. You will write clean, well-documented code that meets specifications and participate in code reviews.

The role involves problem isolation, debugging production issues, and contributing to architectural discussions. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering with 3–5 years of experience, strong Microsoft stack skills, and familiarity with RESTful APIs and

What You’ll Do

Design, develop, test, and deploy software features and services. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that meets specification and adheres to company development standards. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers. Performs problem/task isolation, analysis, research, and resolution with minimum assistance. Debug and resolve production issues in a timely manner. Contribute to architectural design and technical design discussions.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3 – 5 years of professional software development experience. Domain knowledge in the travel industry (e.g., GDS systems, booking platforms, travel management or e-commerce) is a plus. Strong experience in developing enterprise applications. Ability to deliver software and artefacts independently. Driving the maintenance and enhancement efforts in Compleat which is Amex GBT’s mid office PNR processing engine. Expertise on the Microsoft technology stack (.NET Core, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, SQL Server) Good knowledge of client-side scripting – React, JavaScript and jQuery.Familiarity with RESTful APIs. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub). Solid understanding and experience with Object-Oriented design and development. Knowledge of design patterns is a plus. Good understanding of project architecture and software development processes and lifecycle.
