Job summary

Southern Arms Corporation in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental, is seeking an accounting assistant to support the finance team with daily bookkeeping and financial record-keeping.

You will record transactions, process payables/receivables, assist with bank reconciliations, and help prepare financial statements, under supervision. The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and collaboration within a professional business environment.

Qualifications

• Must have and demonstrate formal accounting qualification or bookkeeping experience.
• Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial data management.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail in financial records.
• Good knowledge of basic accounting principles, debits/credits, and reconciliations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and confidentiality practices.

Responsibilities

• Record financial transactions, invoices, and receipts in ledgers and systems.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately and timely.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and general ledger balance reviews.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation.
• Maintain and organize financial documents and supporting records.
• Perform data entry and update financial databases with care.
• Assist with payroll processing, including timesheet verification and wage calculations.
• Respond to routine financial inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Support audit preparations by gathering required documentation.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
