Job summary

Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company is seeking a Deployment Officer to execute and manage technology deployments across non-production and production environments. You will ensure changes follow approved requests, release schedules, and rollback plans to minimize risk and maintain stability.

You will collaborate with DevOps, Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams, ensuring compliance, accurate documentation, and support for post-deployment verification and handovers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or engineering or related field.
• At least 3 years in Release Deployment, Release Engineering, DevOps, IT Operations, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience deploying apps and infrastructure in enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows OS, including Windows Server administration.
• Experience with CI/CD tools Jenkins and GitLab.
• Scripting skills: Bash, PowerShell, Python.
• Familiarity with change management, release management, and deployment best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute deployments across non-production and production environments following approved processes and schedules.
• Validate deployment readiness with required approvals, release packages, scripts, and rollback plans.
• Follow deployment controls, security standards, and escalation procedures for safe releases.
• Monitor deployment activities and communicate status, issues, and outcomes to stakeholders.
• Support post-deployment verification, service readiness checks, and handovers.
• Maintain accurate deployment records and documentation for audit and compliance.
• Participate in change and release reviews, providing readiness and risk inputs.
• Identify opportunities to improve deployment processes through automation and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Infra, Security, and Applications teams to ensure reliable deployments.
• Escalate deployment risks and deviations to Deployment Lead.

About the role

Working as part of a key control function, the Deployment Officer helps ensure the smooth and reliable release of applications and infrastructure changes while supporting service availability, operational readiness, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in Release Deployment, Release Engineering, DevOps, IT Operations, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience supporting application and infrastructure deployments in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, including Windows Server administration.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab.
• Basic scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
• Familiarity with change management, release management, and deployment best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail.
