Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Data Scientist for Social initiatives to partner with the Social Connections team to grow user engagement and meaningful interactions. You will design experiments, build data pipelines, and analyze data to inform product decisions across social features.

Ideal candidates have a PhD or Master with 2+ years, strong SQL and Python/R, and experience with Spark, Hive, and Airflow. Equity and comprehensive benefits are offered along with a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Possess or pursuing a PhD or Master’s with 2+ years in Data Science, Biostatistics, Mathematics or related field
• Expertise in SQL and scripting languages for data analysis (Python, R)
• Experience developing data pipelines and working with big data technologies (Spark, Hive, Airflow)
• Strong experience in experimental design (A/B testing) and causal inference
• Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and communicate them to stakeholders
• Experience with LLM / Agentic flows is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze experiments to measure the impact of new features and inform product decisions
• Architect and build robust data pipelines to support analytics, reporting, and modeling needs
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to understand user behavior and growth opportunities
