Job summary

Emapta Philippines is hiring a Data Scientist to join a pioneering AI team, building production-grade ML and agentic AI solutions using GCP, Vertex AI, LangChain, and vector databases.

You will own model development, deployment, and monitoring from ideation to production, with strong collaboration across business and tech teams in a fast-growing, globally connected workplace.

Qualifications

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics.
• 3-5+ years of end-to-end data science and ML experience, with production ownership.
• GCP and Vertex AI experience for model training, deployment and monitoring.
• Experience with MLOps/LLMOps, pipelines, Docker, APIs and data workflows.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to translate goals into technical requirements and oversee deployment.
• Develop ML models from customer behavior and engagement data for business decisions.
• Apply Python/SQL with feature engineering and rigorous validation.
• Design generative/agentic AI solutions using LLMs and LangChain/ADK.
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation systems with vector DBs like pgvector/Pinecone/Weaviate.
• Fine-tune foundation models using LoRA/QLoRA and ensure explainability with SHAP/LIME.
• Own ML deployment and operations from concept to production.
• Containerize models with Docker and deploy via CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy and monitor production models in Vertex AI with drift detection.
• Write SQL/Python transformations and orchestrate data pipelines with Airflow/Cloud Build.
• Query BigQuery to support modeling and analytics, communicating impact to stakeholders.

The Qualifications We Seek

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
• 3-5+ years of end-to-end Data Science and Machine Learning experience, with ownership across development, deployment, and production operations
• Strong hands-on GCP and Google Vertex AI experience covering model training, deployment, lifecycle management, and production monitoring
• Experience with MLOps/LLMOps, including evaluation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, data pipelines, and APIs
• Experience designing and deploying agentic AI systems using LangChain, Google ADK, or equivalent frameworks
• Strong Python and SQL skills, including pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, or LightGBM
• Practical experience with RAG architectures, vector databases such as pgvector, Pinecone, or Weaviate, and foundation model adaptation using LoRA or QLoRA
• Ability to explain model decisions using techniques such as SHAP or LIME and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders
• Familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes, A/B testing, causal inference, and uplift modelling is a strong advantage
• Experience in Media, Telecommunications, or Finance is welcome but not essential

Your Daily Tasks

• Partner with business stakeholders to translate commercial goals into clear technical requirements and remain involved through deployment to ensure technically sound and commercially relevant outcomes
• Develop machine learning models from customer behavior, product usage, and engagement data to support real business decisions
• Apply Python, SQL, feature engineering, rigorous validation, and explainability techniques across large-scale datasets
• Design generative and agentic AI solutions using large language models such as Gemini, Claude, or open-source models and frameworks such as LangChain or ADK
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation systems using vector databases such as pgvector, Pinecone, or Weaviate
• Fine-tune and adapt foundation models using approaches such as LoRA and QLoRA
• Develop robust evaluation frameworks for machine learning, generative AI, and agentic systems
• Own ML and LLM deployment and operations from validated concept through monitored production service
• Containerize models with Docker and deploy through CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, or similar technologies
• Deploy and manage production models through Google Vertex AI with drift detection, retraining, monitoring, and evaluation
• Write transformation logic in SQL or Python and support data pipeline orchestration through GCP, Airflow, or similar tools
• Query cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery to support modelling and analytical requirements
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and demonstrate the commercial impact of data science and AI initiatives to non-technical stakeholders
