Job summary

Union Bank of the Philippines is seeking a Data Products Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines ensuring high data availability for analytics and operations. The role collaborates with Data Product Managers and the Data Architect to deliver robust data solutions.

You will build pipelines from multiple sources, optimize data infrastructure, and model data products that meet business needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern data orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and optimization of ELT data flows.
• Experience with Snowflake, DBT, and version control systems like Git.
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and pipeline frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, DBT, GitLab).
• Knowledge of modern data warehousing solutions (Snowflake, Redshift).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable and reusable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large data volumes.
• Optimize and maintain data infrastructure for performance and reliability.
• Model data products aligned with business needs.
• Develop and maintain documentation on data architecture, metadata, and processing workflows.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies to improve data engineering capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data-driven initiatives and design discussions.
• Lead continuous improvement programs in the data engineering domain.
• Provide L3 production support for data domains including incident and problem management.
• Participate in POC projects and evaluate emerging tools or frameworks.
• For senior engineers: review code, enforce best practices, and mentor juniors.
