Job summary

Desco, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Data Operations Assistant to support our Business Analyst. You will collect, clean, structure, and maintain operational and production data to enable high-level business analysis.

Ideal candidates have advanced Excel skills, attention to detail, and basic data knowledge; familiarity with SQL or data visualization tools is a plus, and fresh graduates are welcome.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel/Spreadsheet skills with formulas, Pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data cleansing.
• High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in reporting.
• Understanding of how data sets connect with business reporting.
• Strong communication to coordinate with departments for data gathering.
• Basic knowledge of SQL or data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Data Collection & Extraction: gather raw data from department logs and production schedules.
• Data Cleaning & Alignment: filter, clean, and align data to reporting needs.
• Workflow Support: assist in monitoring workflows and production schedules with timely updates.
• Documentation: maintain records of data sources and SOPs for data collection.

The primary responsibility will be to collect, clean, structure, and maintain operational and production data, ensuring it is accurate and readily available for high-level business analysis and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Collection & Extraction: Gather raw data from various department logs, production schedules, and operational systems across Desco, Inc.

• Data Cleaning & Alignment: Filter, clean, and organize raw data to ensure it aligns perfectly with the formatting and requirements needed by the Business Analyst.

• Workflow Support: Assist the Business Analyst in monitoring current workflows and production schedules by providing timely data updates.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of data sources and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data collection.

• Reporting Support: Create basic summaries, charts, or tables from the collected data for quick reference.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Advanced Excel/Spreadsheet Skills: Proficient in using formulas, Pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data cleansing techniques.

• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in handling and verifying numbers to avoid errors in reporting.

• Basic Data Knowledge: Understanding of how data sets connect and align with general business reporting.

• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with different departments for data gathering.
