Job summary

hammerjack is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to turn complex data into reliable, reporting-ready insights for a growing organisation. You will build clean pipelines, shape scalable data models, and support teams in making smarter decisions.

Work setup is hybrid—1x onsite weekly at Alphaland Makati or Nepo Quad Angeles Pampanga—revisit upon regularisation. You will craft data layers, support migrations to Microsoft Fabric, and optimise Power BI reporting across global clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or equivalent
• Proficient in SQL, Power Query, and Python
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouses/Warehouses, and Power BI environments
• Strong ability to transform semi-structured JSON data into relational models
• Knowledge of dimensional modelling (Star/Snowflake) and Medallion architecture
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimise slow pipelines

Build the data foundation for confident business decisions. We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer who can turn complex data into reliable, reporting-ready insights for a growing organisation. Work Setup: Hybrid 1x a week onsite - Alphaland Corporate Tower, Makati OR Nepo Quad Angeles Pampanga (to be revisited upon regularisation)

Role Overview

As the Data Engineer, you'll be at the centre of the organisation's data capability—designing reliable pipelines, building trusted Silver and Gold data layers, and transforming complex source information into clean, structured datasets. You'll help create the foundation for accurate reporting, stronger analytics, and better business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape the Architecture: Design and implement scalable data models, moving raw data into refined Silver and Gold standard datasets.

• Own Semantic Modelling: Design, validate, and maintain semantic models that are optimized for end-user reporting.

• Build Reliable Pipelines: Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes that ingest data from multiple source systems, including ERP and CRM platforms.

• Transform Complex Data: Parse, flatten, and convert nested JSON structures into clean, structured formats suitable for business reporting.

• Support Migration Projects: Assist with data migration initiatives, including transitioning legacy SQL logic into modern cloud platforms such as Microsoft Fabric.

• Tune for Performance: Optimise SQL queries and Power Query transformations to improve processing efficiency and Power BI Semantic Model refresh rates.

• Protect Data Integrity: Validate and monitor data quality throughout the pipeline to ensure reliable Gold-layer outputs for decision-making.

• Report Development: Build and support reporting-ready datasets and deliverables that enable clear, accurate, and scalable business reporting.

• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with BI teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical data solutions.

Skills & Experience

• Relevant academic qualifications in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a demonstrable track record in building and maintaining data pipelines.

• Expert-level proficiency in SQL, Power Query, and Python.

• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouses, Warehouses, and Power BI environments.

• Demonstrated mastery in transforming semi-structured JSON data into relational models.

• Deep understanding of dimensional modelling, including Star and Snowflake schemas, as well as Medallion architecture principles.

• Advanced ability to troubleshoot complex data discrepancies and optimise slow-running pipelines.
