Job summary

Bridge Data Centres Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Data Centre Plumbing & Drainage Design Manager to lead the design, planning, and technical management of plumbing, drainage, water supply, and water treatment systems for hyperscale and enterprise data centre developments across international projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant design and engineering experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or infrastructure projects.

• Strong knowledge of plumbing, drainage, water treatment, and utility infrastructure systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and technical management of plumbing, drainage, water supply, and water treatment systems for data center developments across international projects.
• Develop technical solutions, design proposals, and bid responses based on client requirements and industry standards.
• Provide technical support for campus planning, feasibility studies, and water resource assessments.
• Manage the planning and implementation of water supply strategies, municipal connections, and private treatment options where applicable.
• Prepare and review preliminary engineering designs, specifications, and procurement documentation.
• Oversee external design consultants and ensure compliance with project requirements and company standards.
• Review detailed design packages, drawings, submittals, and design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with CSA, Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Protection teams for integrated delivery.
• Resolve design issues during design, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Plumbing & Drainage Design Manager to lead the design, planning, and technical management of plumbing, drainage, water supply, and water treatment systems for hyperscale and enterprise data centre developments. This role will support projects across global markets, working closely with internal stakeholders, customers, consultants, contractors, and external design institutes to deliver high-quality and scalable infrastructure solutions.

Key responsibilities

Lead the design and technical management of plumbing, drainage, water supply, and water treatment systems for data center developments across international projects.

Develop technical solutions, design proposals, and bid responses based on client requirements, operational needs, and data center industry standards.

Provide technical support for campus planning, project feasibility studies, water resource assessments, and utility infrastructure development.

Manage the planning and implementation of water supply strategies, including municipal water connections, self-built water treatment plants, and private groundwater wells where applicable.

Prepare and review preliminary engineering designs, equipment selections, technical specifications, and procurement documentation.

Oversee the progress, quality, and deliverables of external design consultants, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company standards.

Review detailed design packages, construction drawings, equipment submittals, and design changes throughout the project lifecycle.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including CSA, Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Protection disciplines, to ensure integrated project delivery.

Resolve technical issues during design, construction, commissioning, and operational handover phases.

Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, codes, industry standards, and best practices for mission-critical facilities.

About you

Bachelor's degree in Plumbing Engineering, Water Supply & Drainage Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline, with 8+ years of relevant design and engineering experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial, or infrastructure projects.

Proven experience in data center design and design management, with a strong understanding of data center construction standards, operational requirements, and critical facility design principles.

Strong technical knowledge of plumbing, drainage, water treatment, utility infrastructure systems, and associated products and materials, with the ability to develop engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications.

Experience managing external design consultants and design institutes, including quality control, design reviews, detailed design coordination, and design change management throughout the project lifecycle.

Experience in water treatment plant design, construction, operation, or large-scale water resource infrastructure projects is highly preferred.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
