Job summary

Amazon’s AWS Infrastructure Services is hiring a Data Center Operations Tech to help design, deliver, and operate our global infrastructure. You’ll join a diverse team of engineers and operations staff, supporting servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling to keep the cloud running.

In this on-site role in the Philippines, you’ll design, implement, and maintain Linux-based server hardware, monitor performance, configure networking gear, and contribute to DR strategies while collaborating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
• 2+ years in data center operations, hardware repair, cabling, or network deployment.

Data Center Operations Tech, Data Center Operations (DCO)

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Key job responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based server infrastructures with a focus on reliability and scalability.

A day in the life

• You will troubleshoot technical issues on advanced hardware, ranging from servers, storage and networking devices on a 24/7 basis.
• You will maintain a high level of system reliability and availability.
• You will participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies with opportunities to share experiences and knowledge with our global network of technical experts.
• You will share knowledge and help train less technical staff on the best practices related to all service owner issues.
• You will contribute towards building a great team by getting involved in the Amazon hiring process/candidate interviews.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
• 2+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
• Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
