Job summary

Bastion Payment Systems is seeking a Data Center and Facilities Engineer to ensure reliable operation of the data center and supporting infrastructure, keeping systems online and secure. You will manage power, cooling, physical security, and IT infrastructure while collaborating with the IT team on strategic projects.

The role requires 3-5 years in data center or facilities engineering, strong technical knowledge, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a data center or facilities engineer.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and physical security.
• Proficient in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining server, network, and storage equipment.
• Expertise in backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to resolve issues quickly.
• Familiarity with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements for data center operations.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the data center environment, including power, cooling, and physical security systems
• Monitor and troubleshoot hardware and software issues to ensure optimal performance of the company's IT infrastructure
• Implement and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data
• Collaborate with the IT team to plan and execute projects that improve scalability, resilience, and efficiency of the data center
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for data center operations
• Provide on-call support and respond to emergency situations as needed
• Document and maintain detailed records of all data center activities and configurations
