Job summary

GrowSari is expanding its data analytics team to support strategic decision-making for its growing network of sari-sari stores in the Philippines. The Data Analyst will build semantic layers, model tables, and metric definitions over transactional databases to power reporting, visualization, and AI copilots.

The role requires 2-3 years' experience in analytics, strong SQL skills, and proficiency in Python/Jupyter notebooks. Hybrid work is available with onsite days required 2-3x per week.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Since its inception in 2016, GrowSari has expanded to serve over 50,000 stores in 100 cities, powering them with tools for growth, data analytics, and efficient management. The platform provides affordable inventory, working capital loans, and supports a variety of micro-services, such as telco load and e-commerce, enabling store owners to optimize their operations. GrowSari also delivers vital insights for manufacturers and distributors to enhance their strategies, building a sustainable ecosystem that drives local economic growth.

Job Summary

Data Analysts provide data-driven decision-making in Growsari. As part of the team, the Data Analyst serves a valuable role in the company by producing actionable insights and recommendations to the business.

Data analysts typically work for one or two business verticals. They are tasked with building and maintaining the semantic layer, modelled tables and metric definitions over our transactional databases, that powers reporting, visualization, and AI copilots.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the product managers, product designers, technical project managers and engineers of the mobile platform to clearly define business questions against data.
• Understand the underlying business and metrics definitions and build model tables as single version of truth semantic layer
• Provide data expertise and support to their stakeholder business unit(s) in their day-to-day operations.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, look for improvement opportunities, and make sound recommendations to the business.
• Explore new and existing data sources and work with data engineering to improve quality and usability of our app data.
• Collaborate with other team members to improve the longer-term data analytics capabilities of Growsari.

What We Are Looking For

• At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in a business analytics and insights role.
• Proficient at writing SQL queries against very large and diverse datasets.
• Adept in reproducible research and analyses (python, jupyter notebooks, etc.)
• Learned to use AI tools to help speed up your workflow and/or improve the quality of your queries.
• Able to work independently and are eager to solve open-ended problems.
• Prior experience in data analytics in an organization with large modelled data
• Good understanding of data warehousing concepts
• At least some basic knowledge of data engineering and/or general-purpose programming languages.
