Job summary

World Vision is seeking a Data Analyst with strong Power BI skills to design, develop, and optimize data models for financial reporting and business analytics. The role focuses on translating requirements into robust BI solutions and maintaining data integrity across sources.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in data analysis, experience with DAX, and a background in multinational or NGO environments. Hybrid work arrangements are available where policies permit.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience with BI tools or financial software and reporting tools.
• 2+ years of Power BI data modelling and writing complex DAX code.

Key Responsibilities

Purpose of Position

This position is responsible for developing new data models, and for optimizing and maintaining existing data models for financial and data analysis. This position will be responsible for analysing, designing, structuring and managing data sources that support business requirements and align with enterprise standards. This position requires strong technical skills in business analytics particularly with MS Excel, DAX formula language, Power BI Data Modeling and/or related technology. This requires advanced knowledge and skills in developing reports and dashboards using tools including, but not limited to, Power BI and Excel.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and optimize new and existing data models in line with approved standards and practices.

• Gather and understand customer requirements and translate the need into a data model or report.

• Manage the maintenance or extraction of data sources needed for data models, reports and analyses, liaising with data owners and stakeholders to ensure data integrity and to resolve data quality issues.

• Maintain VFI Power BI data models for VFI Financial Reporting and Analysis, and other departments as may be assigned.
• Provide support for the users of existing data models.
• Develop, maintain and ensure that proper documentation of data models and data fields are in place.

• Design and implement data governance to support proper data management.
• Collaborate with the GTD and other departments to ensure timely refresh, maintenance and validation of existing data models, where applicable.
• Perform all other duties that may be assigned.

• Attend and participate in meetings, team events, and conferences as assigned.

• Attend chapel services, daily and group devotions.

• Promote World Vision's values through example and hold self and others accountable across the team.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Minimum 4 years of experience in positions on data analysis or related areas.
• Experience working in an international non-profit organization or multinational corporation.
• At least 1 year of experience with business intelligence tools or financial software (e.g. Sunsystems, Datawarehouse, Dashboards) and reporting tools.
• At least 2 years of experience in Power BI Data modelling and writing complex DAX code for data manipulation.
• Bachelor or University degree in Finance, Computer Science or related field.
• Excellent skills in structured problem solving and ability to perform complex analyses and draw meaningful and actionable insights.
• Demonstrate ability to understand multiple data sources and how they relate to each other.
• Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written at all levels with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail: ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Superior organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills.

Preferred

• Experience in Financial Reporting and understanding finance and accounting is an advantage.

Work Environment/Travel

• 5% Travel as needed.If employed in GCMO, this position is eligible for hybrid work and its application must comply with GCMO and/or GFSC hybrid policies and procedures.
