The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance and 2–3 years’ experience in finance, with strong Excel, MS Dynamics, and Power BI skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or University Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–3 years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in international NGO or audit environment.
• Experience with offshore teams is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
• Knowledge of financial systems (e.g., MS Dynamics) and reporting tools (Power BI).

Key Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Finance Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the organisation's grant funded and programmatic activities through effective financial management and governance. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate project budget data, overseeing funds to field commitments, and supporting key field allocation processes across institutional and private funding streams.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management of Project Budget Data and Funds to Field Commitment Requests

• Responsible for the accurate and timely management of grant-funded and private non-sponsorship project budget and field payment data in the financial management system. This includes establishing and maintaining budget structures, configuring income schedules, implementing approved budget changes, and processing funds-to-field commitment requests in collaboration with International and Regional Programs teams.
• Manage and coordinate World Food Program project budget and field payment data in the system.
• Administer and oversee compliance and data accuracy of key annual processes across area and grant programmes, including budget uploads, document creation, tranche commitments, and budget adjustments.
• Partner and collaborate with key stakeholders as a trusted advisor to achieve business outcomes through sound financial stewardship, influence decision-making, and effectively navigate operational priorities and challenges.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's or University Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 2-3 years of extensive experience in all areas of finance and accounting, preferably within an international NGO, multilateral organization or audit/accounting environment.
• Minimum 6 months experience working or supporting people off-shore
• Has experience in working with people from different levels and functions in the organization
• Has substantial and successful experience working in a multi-cultural, geographically dispersed work environment and is able to work with several functional managers or stakeholders.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
• Knowledge of financial systems such as MS Dynamics and reporting tools such as Power BI
• Strong understanding of data management principles and relationships between multiple data sources
