Job summary

DBA Global Shared Services Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Estimator to prepare estimates and bids for diverse construction projects in Clark or Subic.

The role requires reading blueprints, interpreting plans, and using AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and SketchUp to generate accurate BOQs and tender submissions. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Proven experience in construction estimating, tendering, budgets, and project management.
• Strong understanding of plans, BOQs, and tender documents.
• Experience on residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost Estimator with exceptional analytical skills to prepare estimates and bids for clients. Candidates must have experience reading blueprints and plans, and using industry-related software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, and SketchUp.

ESTIMATING

1. Respond to invitations to tender based on project requirements and client specifications.
2. Review and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
3. Identify and select specific trade requirements for tendering.
4. Perform accurate quantity take-offs and measurements using applicable estimating and construction software.
5. Prepare detailed estimates, BOQs, and tenders based on project measurements and requirements.
6. Estimate construction projects across the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
7. Calculate and manage cost-related aspects of construction projects.
8. Assist in establishing client requirements and undertake cost analysis, contract documentation, and bills of quantities.
9. Prepare detailed budget breakdowns and bid summaries.
10. Communicate with Project Estimators and relevant stakeholders regarding queries, drawings, specifications, and clarifications.

TENDER/BID MANAGEMENT

1. Review and break down tender documents to identify project scope, trade requirements, and deliverables.
2. Develop the scope of works based on tender BOQs and project requirements.
3. Prepare and issue bid requests to subcontractors and suppliers.
4. Liaise with subcontractors to obtain pricing, clarify scope, and ensure quotations meet project requirements.
5. Review, compare, and analyze subcontractor quotations.
6. Prepare bid summaries and ensure all required costs are captured accurately.
7. Assist in preparing and submitting competitive and comprehensive tenders within required deadlines.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

1. Liaise and coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and other project stakeholders.
2. Follow up with subcontractors to ensure works are completed on time and according to project requirements.
3. Proactively communicate and provide schedule updates to clients and all other parties involved throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Develop and maintain project schedules and Gantt charts.
5. Monitor subcontractor activities, progress, and complete works against the project schedule.
6. Ensure projects are effectively coordinated and delivered within agreed timelines and budgets.
7. Identify potential delays, cost issues, and project risks, and communicate them proactively to relevant stakeholders.
8. Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, estimates, tender information, and correspondence.

• Bachelor's/College Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or any equivalent field.
• Proven experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, tendering, preparing budgets and bid summaries, and/or project management.
• Strong understanding of construction plans, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents.
• Strong understanding of construction costs, budgeting, and project requirements.
• Experience working on residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects.
• Experience coordinating and communicating with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and construction-related software such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, or equivalent platforms.
• Experience creating and monitoring project schedules/Gantt charts is highly preferred.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
