Unified Accounting & Tax, LLP is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to manage cost accounting activities with a primary focus on inventory management. The role emphasizes accuracy in inventory and cost records, GAAP compliance, and regular reporting.

Experience with QuickBooks Online and Shopify is a strong advantage. The candidate should be comfortable with a regular US PST schedule, work remotely, and contribute to process improvements while supporting cost analyses and budgeting

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA license preferred.
• At least 5 years of cost accounting experience.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, records, and documentation.
• Handle inventory-related accounting tasks, including monitoring inventory balances and cycle counts.
• Analyze inventory costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Monitor changes in product costs and impact on profitability.
• Prepare regular cost reports and analyze variances between standard and actual costs.
• Evaluate costs for new and proposed products.
• Provide reports on pricing and profitability.
• Conduct internal cost audits and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Assist with general ledger preparation and audit requirements.
• Analyze financial and cost data with detailed documentation.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to manage cost accounting activities, with a primary focus on inventory management and monitoring. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in cost accounting, strong analytical skills, and the ability to maintain accurate inventory and cost records.

The successful candidate must be willing to work on a regular US PST schedule. Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Shopify is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, records, and documentation.

• Handle inventory-related accounting tasks, including monitoring inventory balances, conducting physical inventory counts, and managing cycle count programs.

• Analyze inventory costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

• Monitor and analyze changes in product costs and their impact on overall profitability.

• Prepare regular cost reports and analyze variances between standard and actual costs.

• Evaluate and estimate costs for new and proposed products.

• Provide management with reports and analysis on factors affecting product pricing and profitability.

• Conduct internal cost audits and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and GAAP.

• Assist with general ledger preparation and audit requirements.

• Analyze financial and cost data and maintain detailed documentation of findings.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.

• At least 5 years of relevant Cost Accounting experience.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost accounting systems.

• Experience in inventory accounting and inventory management.

• Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Shopify is a strong advantage.

• Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.

• Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Excellent communication, report-writing, and IT skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Willingness to work on a regular US PST schedule.
