Job summary

Ibmc is seeking a Senior Exploration Geologist to lead early-stage copper-gold exploration in the Solomon Islands. You will split time between active field work and office interpretation, driving exploration from ground up and delivering data-driven plans.

The role requires significant field leadership, 5–15 years of metallic exploration experience, and fluency in English for technical reporting. FIFO roster with 4–5 months onsite per rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or related earth science.
• Minimum 5 years in metallic mineral exploration; 7–15 years preferred.
• Copper–Gold exploration with Porphyry Copper and Epithermal Gold focus.
• Greenfield/early-stage exploration experience valued.
• Proficient in ArcGIS, Leapfrog, Surpac, Micromine or ioGAS.
• Fluent English for technical reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop exploration strategy and annual work plans.
• Lead field mapping, sampling, target generation, and core logging.
• Coordinate drilling contractors, labs, and QA/QC.
• Organize daily field activities and guide on-site teams.
• Prepare weekly exploration updates and data-driven recommendations in English.
