Job summary

OceanaGold’s Didipio mine in the Philippines seeks a Senior Geologist - Exploration to discover, delineate and grow mineral resources. You will implement exploration work programs within OGC tenements, identify opportunities, and support safe, sustainable operations.

The role reports to the Manager - Exploration (Philippines). Ten years in mineral exploration and strong mapping, data management, and collaboration with stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications

• Ten years' experience in Mineral Exploration.
• Amenable to a 2-year fixed-term contract.
• Experience with Au-Cu porphyry and Au-Ag epithermal deposits.
• Understanding of ore deposit models.
• Experience planning, implementing, and managing drilling, geophysical, geochemical and reconnaissance exploration programs.
• Field mapping and geochemical sampling methodology.
• Proficient in geological interpretation, core logging, data management and target generation.
• Proficient in ArcGIS and Mining Software (Micromine, Leapfrog).
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Registered Geologist (PRC).
• Professional Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geological, geochemical, and geophysical assessments, studies and surveys.
• Collect and analyze geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to generate exploration targets.
• Evaluate and rank exploration targets and maintain up to date the exploration pipeline.
• Develop and implement drilling plans that maximize exploration effectiveness and operational efficiency.
• Utilize and analyze the exploration database and GIS software to capture and monitor exploration data.
• Liaise with government agency and local stakeholders/community.
• Ensure reports are properly trained and systems are in place to ensure safety.
• Actively participates and promotes company safety, health and environmental programs and activities.

Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper.Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Senior Geologist - Exploration:

To discover,delineateand grow mineral resources.

To implement exploration work programs within the various OGC tenements in a safe and sustainable manner

Toidentifyand generate exploration opportunities for potential business transactions.

This role reports to the Manager - Exploration (Philippines).

Key tasks and responsibilities:

Work Experience and Background:

• Ten (10)years’ experience in Mineral Exploration.

• Relevant experience and understanding of Au-Cu porphyry and Au-Ag epithermal deposits.

• Experience in planning, implementing, and managing drilling, geophysical, geochemical and reconnaissance exploration programs.

Skills/Training/Experienced Required:

• Must be physicallyfit and able to work in remote conditions
• Professional Driver license holder, with experienced in 4WD
