OceanaGold (Philippines) Inc. is seeking a qualified, experienced Coordinator - Construction (3-year fixed term) to mentor and monitor construction work groups at the Didipio operation on Luzon Island, Philippines.

The role reports to the Superintendent - Construction and focuses on ensuring work complies with HSE policies, stays within budget and schedule, and that project reporting is thorough and timely.

Qualifications

• 5+ years project construction experience.
• Expertise in SMP (structural, mechanical, piping).
• Prior construction supervisory experience.
• Experience with machine commissioning and testing in collaboration with electrical aspects.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety health & environmental awareness to prevent injuries or damage.
• Assist the Construction Superintendent in identifying resource skills within the Construction team and manage Capital works.
• Participate in Schedule and Estimate development for Capital Works.
• Participate in the design review process focusing on implementation and constructability issues.
• Monitor site activities and report progress against approved schedules.
• Monitor site activities and report non-conformance issues.
• Maintain daily records of works management and inform the Construction Superintendent of developments.
• Ensure housekeeping around Construction works is maintained to a high standard.
• Provide data for tracking and reporting against schedule for all projects.

Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper.Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliableCoordinator - Construction (3-year fixed term),who willmentor and monitor construction work groups to ensure compliance with Didipio Operation’s HSE Policies and Procedures, coordinate site construction activities to minimize their effect on Operations, ensure construction activities are completed to scope, on time and within budget and ensure project reporting is carried out as per the requirements of the Construction Superintendent. This role will report to theSuperintendent - Construction.

Key tasks and responsibilities

• Promote safety health & environmental awareness in order to prevent injuries and/or damage
• Assist the Construction Superintendent in identifying resource skills and opportunities within the Construction team to execute tasks and act as the liaison with these resources to initiate and manage the Capital works being undertaken
• Participate in Schedule and Estimate development for Capital Works.
• Participate in the design review process, focusing on implementation and constructability issues
• Monitor site activities and report progress against approved schedules.
• Monitor site activities and report non-conformance issues through the project management team.
• Monitor site activities to identify and then implement possible efficiencies and gains to assist in project delivery
• Maintain daily records of works management, including incidents, progress, delays and the achievement of milestones. Ensure the Construction Superintendent is promptly informed of all relevant matters and developments associated with construction activities and site works management.
• Ensure that housekeeping around Construction works is maintained to a high standard
• Provide data for the tracking and reporting against schedule for all projects as per the requirements of the PM.
• Actively participates in works under area of control to ensure no impact on the critical path of the schedule.
• Provide data for the development and subsequent management of cost tracking of Construction Works as per direction of the PM.
• Ensure Contracts and/or Purchase Orders are in place and up to date with the correct approvals in place prior to work being undertaken.
• Ensure all works under area of control are completed to a standard that is fit for purpose and meets the end-users requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Project Construction experience
• Mechanical Engineering Degree (or similar relevant tertiary qualification) is desirable
• Expertise inSMP (structural, mechanical, piping)
  • Prior construction supervisory experience
  • Underground experience is not required, butconstruction experience is essential.
  • With Experience and knowledge on machine commissioning and testing in collaboration with electrical aspects.
• Formal training or Qualifications in MS Project desirable.
• Strong results orientation and ability to consistently deliver against the plan.
• Excellent planning, organizing and prioritization capabilities
• This role requires regular physical activity, occasional lifting of up to 60 pounds, and the ability to work in a mining environment with exposure to extreme temperatures and humidity
• Must be amenable to 3-year fixed term
