Job summary

AFRY is seeking a senior Electrical/Instrumentation engineer for our Manila presence. You will develop protection systems and instrumentation for renewable projects (solar, wind, biomass), perform bid evaluations, and lead technical discussions with vendors and EPC teams.

The role requires design experience in OE/EPC environments, strong English communication, and the ability to work in a multinational project team. Opportunities to grow in international renewable projects are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ design/engineering experience in control and instrumentation.
• Experience in OE/EPC/EPCM environments with technical reports, tender specs, and bid evaluations.
• Strong knowledge of renewable power plant systems.
• Proficient in MS Office; AutoCAD/PVSyst is an advantage.
• Good English and communication skills.
• Interpersonal and leadership ability for multinational teams.
• Familiar with NGCP SCADA requirements and testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare minimum technical specs and conceptual design drawings for protection systems and instrumentation for renewable plants.
• Lead bid evaluations and technical negotiations prior to award of equipment contracts.
• Prepare detailed design on substation protection systems, I/O lists, cable routing, and equipment arrangement.
• Review EPC design documents and comment on control system architecture and instrumentation.

Job Description

• Preparation of minimum technical specifications and conceptual design drawings for protection systems (Substation and Switchgear) and instrumentation for renewable generating plants (solar, wind, biomass) for procurement purposes.
• Undertaking bid evaluations and leading technical negotiations prior to award of equipment supply contracts.
• Prepare detailed design on substation protection system, I/O list, instrument cable routing, cable schedule, and equipment arrangement.
• Review of EPC design documents and commenting on key drawings such as control system architecture, control and instrument cable specifications, weather station instruments, cable routing, panel diagrams.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's/College Degree, Professional License (Passed Board/Bar/Professional License Exam) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in design and engineering of control and instrumentation
• Proven experience in an Owner’s Engineer (OE), EPC or EPCM environment undertaking preparation of technical reports, tender specifications, preparation of plant control and operation philosophies, bid evaluations, vendor drawing review as well proven ability in detailed engineering.
• Good overall knowledge of renewable power plants including their systems
• Experience in MS Office software is a must, and AUTOCAD/PVSyst software is an advantage.
• Good command of English and excellent communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work in a multinational project team.
• Proficient with NGCP SCADA requirements and testing procedures
