Job summary

Asticom Technology Inc. is seeking an IT Specialist on a contract basis, based in Aklan, Western Visayas. The role focuses on providing timely IT help desk support and maintaining our IT infrastructure to ensure smooth daily operations across the organisation.

You will be at the frontline of our IT support, resolving hardware, software, and network issues while contributing to ongoing improvements in our tech environment. Relevant certifications and cloud/virtualization exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT help desk or technical support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Experience with network administration and basic networking principles.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT asset management tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Strong communication abilities to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Customer service-oriented mindset with quality support.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, CCNA, or Microsoft Associate (preferred).
• Experience with cloud services or virtualization technologies (preferred).
• At least 2 years of relevant IT Support experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second-line technical support to end-users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, printers, and other networked devices.
• Install, configure, and update software applications and operating systems.
• Perform routine system maintenance, backups, and security patching for optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and escalate where needed.
• Document technical issues and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Assist with deployment and configuration of new IT equipment.
• Provide user training and technical guidance on IT systems and best practices.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support IT policy and security protocol implementation.
