Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for a results-driven Construction Project Manager to take end-to-end accountability for the planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of assigned building and bridge projects.

Reporting directly to the Vice President, the Project Manager will be responsible for delivering projects within the approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements. The role requires strong capabilities in project planning, risk management, contractor coordination, productivity monitoring, management reporting, and construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project execution plans, work breakdown structures, baseline schedules, budgets, and resource plans

  • Lead assigned construction projects from mobilization through execution, turnover, and close-out

  • Establish project milestones, productivity targets, reporting requirements, and team accountabilities

  • Monitor actual accomplishments against approved schedules, budgets, and productivity targets

  • Prepare accurate progress, productivity, cost, risk, and management reports for the Vice President

  • Identify technical, operational, commercial, safety, and schedule risks and maintain an updated project risk register

  • Develop and implement mitigation, recovery, and contingency plans for project risks, delays, and cost variances

  • Direct and coordinate project engineers, site personnel, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers

  • Lead site inspections, progress reviews, coordination meetings, and contractor performance discussions

  • Monitor manpower, equipment, materials, procurement requirements, and other project resources

  • Review and validate purchase orders, billings, variation orders, change orders, accomplishment reports, and supporting documents

  • Ensure work complies with approved plans, technical specifications, contract requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulations

  • Coordinate with the designated Safety Officer and QA/QC personnel to ensure proper safety and quality implementation

  • Resolve site and project issues and implement corrective actions to protect schedule, cost, quality, safety, and productivity

  • Maintain complete project records, including site diaries, progress reports, inspection records, as-built plans, testing documents, and turnover files

  • Manage final inspections, punch-list completion, client acceptance, project turnover, and administrative close-out

Authority and Accountability

The Project Manager is authorized and accountable to:

  • Exercise day-to-day control of assigned construction projects

  • Assign work priorities and direct project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors

  • Allocate manpower, equipment, materials, and other resources within the approved project plan

  • Approve project documents and expenditures within delegated authority limits

  • Require contractors and project personnel to implement corrective or recovery actions

  • Suspend work involving imminent safety risks, serious quality violations, or major noncompliance, subject to immediate management reporting

  • Coordinate directly with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory representatives

  • Escalate major contractual, technical, commercial, and financial matters requiring executive approval

  • Remain accountable for project delivery, reporting accuracy, documentation, and performance against approved targets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Must be a Licensed Civil Engineer

  • Four to seven years of progressive construction experience

  • At least two years of experience in a project leadership, project management, or equivalent capacity

  • Demonstrated experience handling vertical construction and bridge or horizontal infrastructure projects

  • Strong background in project planning, scheduling, risk management, cost control, resource planning, and productivity monitoring

  • Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, project engineers, and site personnel

  • Working knowledge of construction methods, contracts, billings, change orders, quality systems, safety standards, and project documentation

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6

  • Safety Officer certification, including SO4 or equivalent, is an advantage

  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, analytical, reporting, and decision-making skills

  • Willing to travel or be assigned to different project sites when required
