Job summary

ESCA Incorporated in the Philippines is seeking a Construction Project Engineer – Mechanical to plan, design, and oversee HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and piping works across site projects. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; RME/BSME preferred.
  • 1–3 years of solid experience in construction project engineering, mechanical site supervision, or MEP/HVAC design.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical building systems (HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing, Piping) and construction processes.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and standard project management/scheduling software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a proven capacity to handle multiple tasks under deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee on-site mechanical installations and testing/commissioning, ensuring strict compliance with local codes (e.g., PSME Code, Fire Code), safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Manage mechanical labor, materials, and specialized equipment on-site; monitor project expenses to ensure budget feasibility.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for mechanical concerns among clients, contractors, suppliers, and project management teams.
  • Identify on-site mechanical conflicts, provide engineering solutions, resolve logistical bottlenecks, and prepare detailed status and progress reports.

Job description

Primary Purpose:

The Construction Project Engineer - Mechanical plans, designs, and oversees all mechanical works (HVAC, fire protection, plumbing/sanitary, and piping systems) across construction projects. This role bridges the gap between mechanical design engineering and on-site project management to ensure deliverables are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in strict compliance with technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary engineers to validate mechanical system plans, specifications, equipment layouts, and project schedules.

  • Oversee on-site mechanical installations and testing/commissioning, ensuring strict compliance with local codes (e.g., PSME Code, Fire Code), safety regulations, and quality standards.

Education, Technical Capability & Career:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Registered/Licensed Mechanical Engineer (RME/BSME) is highly preferred.

  • 1–3 years of solid experience in construction project engineering, mechanical site supervision, or MEP/HVAC design.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical building systems (HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing, Piping) and construction processes.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and standard project management/scheduling software.
