You will prepare shop drawings and production files for CNC, laser cutting, and large-format printing, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and WHS, while coordinating with Sales, Production, and Project Management teams.

The Construction Designer is responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of detailed proofing and construction-ready design documentation for signage projects. This role bridges the gap between concept design, engineering, manufacturing, and on-site installation, ensuring all designs are fully compliant, buildable, and aligned with project specifications.
Interpret project work orders, architectural drawings, and specifications to produce high-quality, construction-ready signage designs.
Develop detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details.
Ensure all designs meet structural, engineering, and compliance requirements.
Prepare accurate production files for manufacturing, including CNC, laser cutting, and printing outputs.
Review and approve artwork for production suitability and overall constructability.
Apply extensive knowledge of materials, fixings, and structural requirements across all design outputs.
Liaise directly with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Production, and Project Management teams.
Identify and resolve potential design, manufacturing, or installation challenges early in the project lifecycle.
Ensure all design deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with project scope.
Read, interpret, and integrate construction drawings, site plans, and engineering documentation.
Ensure designs fully comply with Australian Standards, local building codes, and WHS (Workplace Health & Safety) requirements.
Ensure all designs incorporate safe construction and installation practices.
Identify potential design risks and proactively recommend mitigation strategies.
Comply with all legislative mandates and company WHS policies and procedures.
Promote a safety-first culture across all project phases.
Support and maintain project scope, timelines, and deliverable commitments.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation, including revision tracking and sign-off approvals.
Monitor quality standards to ensure final outputs meet both company and client expectations.
Identify project risks and elevate issues where required.
Continuously contribute to the improvement of design processes and team workflows.
Education: Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Design, Engineering, or a related field.
