Job summary

The Technical Estimator will compile detailed cost analyses for construction projects, collaborating with purchasing and subcontractors, and using Excel templates to ensure accuracy.

You will review drawings, maintain price lists, support the sales team, and help standardize estimation processes while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Minimum of 3 years' experience in construction estimation and a civil engineering or related degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Technical Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Proficient in estimation software, such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar programs.
• Strong numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with purchasing and subcontractors to secure bids and pricing.
• Utilize Excel templates for accurate estimate calculations.
• Maintain up-to-date price lists for materials, labor rates, and equipment productivity.
• Assist the Sales team in preparing proposals and participating in bid meetings as needed.
• Review proposal requirements to determine scope and estimate needs.
• Validate project progress and financials with operations to ensure alignment with estimates.
• Recommend improvements in estimating processes to enhance accuracy.
