Job summary

Region 9 School of Applied Technology in Mexico, Maine, seeks a Computer Technology/Automation Engineer Technician Instructor to begin August 2026. You will teach IT Fundamentals to Computer Technology I and guide Computer Technology II through technologies and cybersecurity, with hands-on automation work to enhance student learning.

The role requires Maine certification eligibility, teaching/supervisory experience, and CHRC eligibility on hire.

Qualifications

• Teaching (and supervisory) experience preferred.

Job Description

As an instructor in our Computer Technology/Automation Engineer Technician Program, you will introduce Computer Technology I students to CompTIA’s IT Fundamentals curriculum and guide Computer Technology II students through common wired and wireless technologies, cyber security, and other essential skills. Students will focus on acquiring job‑ready IT skills and learn through both virtual and hands‑on experiences. Additionally, you will work with new automation equipment to enhance the educational experience for Automation Engineer Technician program participants.

Qualifications

• Certified or eligible and willing to obtain Maine Department of Education certification.
• Teaching and supervisory experience preferred.
• Eligibility to obtain a Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) upon hire.
