Job summary

RED Engineering Design in Makati City is seeking a CFD Engineer to develop and run simulations for airflow and thermal performance, delivering reports and actionable insights for design optimization.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, lead studies, and contribute to innovative, zero-carbon building solutions while meeting project deadlines in a dynamic, global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with modules in Thermodynamics/Fluid Dynamics/CFD.
• Experience with CFD modeling tools (e.g., Ansys Fluent, OpenFOAM) is preferred but not required.
• Ability to translate CFD results into clear technical documentation for design decisions.
• Basic knowledge of Building Regulations and ASHRAE data hall standards.
• Experience with CAD and design drawings is a plus.

We are now seeking a CFD Engineer to be based in our Makati City office.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and run CFD simulations for airflow, thermal performance, and heat rejection systems
• Lead and support engineering studies, feasibility assessments, and R&D initiatives
• Deliver high-quality technical reports and actionable insights for design optimization
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams
• Contribute to innovative solutions in mission-critical environments like data centres

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or degree in appropriate engineering discipline with completion of modules in Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Computational Fluid Dynamics or have sufficient equivalent experience.
• Experience in steady-state and transient Computational Fluid Dynamics modeling (Cadence Reality DC Design (previously 6SigmaDCX), Ansys Fluent, OpenFOAM, etc.) is desired but not required.
• Capable of analyzing CFD results using fundamental physics principles and translating findings into clear, technical documentation to support design development. Proficient in interpreting complex data to provide actionable insights that drive effective design decisions.
• Basic understanding of Building Regulations and BS/EN standards, and data hall standard ASHRAE TC9.9
• Background in consulting or building services is preferred but not required.
• Experience in CAD, Sketchup, Navis/Revit and understanding of engineering drawings.
• Proficient in Microsoft office operations (MS excel, ppt, word, outlook, etc).
• Possesses excellent written communication skills in English, with an aptitude for report writing.
• Capable of effectively presenting work to diverse listeners, ensuring that complex technical concepts are clearly understood by non-technical clients.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Working effectively in a team environment.
• Act in an ethical manner and follow the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines of the Group.

Interaction:

• Collaborating globally with peers and counterparts. Reports to the central CFD team and work across UK, EMEA, APAC.
• Developing long term-term business relationships with colleagues.
• Working alongside design engineers, project managers, IT team, non-technical and administrative colleagues.
