Job summary

NV5 Limited is seeking a Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to lead MEPF commissioning activities for our data center and commercial projects in the Philippines. You will review designs, coordinate with engineers, contractors, and vendors, and ensure systems meet design specifications and performance criteria.

The role requires strong technical leadership, project management experience, and fluent English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Licensed as Registered Mechanical Engineer or Registered Electrical Engineer.
• Min 5 years in MEPF commissioning and/or Design.
• Data center project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End MEPF commissioning oversight from pre-design to handover.
• Forensic review of submittals, shop drawings, test data.
• Manage HL T and IST activities for system resilience.
• MEPF integration verification across Fire, Plumbing, Electrical, and Mechanical cooling.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and vendors for successful integration.
• Troubleshoot issues during commissioning and resolve them.
• Prepare and present detailed testing/commissioning reports to stakeholders.
• Ensure commissioning activities comply with local and international standards.

Job description

We are looking for Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) to join our Philippines team. The ideal candidate will lead our MEPF commissioning activities and perform design reviews for our data center and commercial projects, ensuring that all related systems are effectively integrated and function according to design specifications. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management experience.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Commissioning (L0-L6): Oversight from pre-design through post-occupancy handover.

Technical Audit: Forensic review of contractor submittals, shop drawings and manufacturer test data to catch design flaws or contractor mistakes.

Managing HLT (load banks/aisle containment) and directing Level 5 IST for system resilience.

MEPF Integration: Verifying interlocks between Fire Protection, Plumbing, Electrical infrastructure (UPS/ATS) and Mechanical cooling.

Collaborate with project teams, including engineers, contractors, and vendors, to verify the integration and operational success of MEP systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the commissioning process.

Prepare and present detailed reports on testing and commissioning results to project stakeholders

Ensure all commissioning activities comply with local and international regulations and standards.

Education & Experience

Min 5 years of experience in MEPF commissioning and/or Design from relevant industry

Experience in Data Centre projects or similar critical facilities would be preferred.

Proven background in designing/reviewing the design of MEPF systems.

Fluency in English
